Hi there, If the fiber-reinforced polyethylene you are searching for is similar to that shown here ( http://www.tylersdisplay.com/visqueen.html ), then the manufacturer is Visqueen, part of the British Polythene Industries group. Visqueen Agri ( http://www.visqueenagri.com/ ) Visqueen Building ( http://www.visqueenbuilding.co.uk/ ) British Polythene Industries ( http://www.bpipoly.com/ ) under "BPI Industrial" The Plastics Distributor & Fabricator Buyer's Guide ( http://www.plasticsmag.com/buyguide.asp ) cross-referenced with searches on other brand names (Solar Max, Poly Max, ScrimWeave) found on greenhouse supply retailers pointed me to two more manufacturers: ThorTarp ( http://www.thortarp.com/applications/clear_grnhse.htm ) and GreenTek's Solar Max ( http://www.green-tek.com/FRset_GrPr.html ) Raven Industries' Dura*Skrim 10HUV ( http://www.ravenind.com/eng_films/specs_dura_10huv_framed.html ) is another reinforced UV-stablized polyethylene. Other major plastics companies like Dow ( http://www.dow.com/polyethylene/na/app/agri.htm ), AT Plastics ( http://www.atplastics.com/films/g_list.htm ), DuPont ( http://www.dupont.com/polyester/resins/products/biomax/ ) and ICI do not list anything about reinforced polyethylene agricultural film. Search Strategy: I started with the terms "polyethylene greenhouse" and "reinforced polyethylene film". Then I searched the brand names that I found in looking for the manufacturer: "Solar Max" "Poly Max" "ScrimWeave" "Visqueen" Then I looked through industry sites like Plastics Distributors & Fabricators Magazine and ran the same terms through Usenet. I hope this helps you. Please feel free to ask for clarification if necessary. |

Hi lingcod, Here's what I was able to locate so far: Plastic greenhouse film, South Africa: http://www.strangeways.co.za/products_page.htm not among the locations you specified, but I threw it in, just in case... Plastic greenhouse film, USA: "Armin Plastics Corp. 18901 East Railroad Street City of Industry, CA 91748 Tel: 800-654-8119 URL: ( http://www.armin.com ) (supplies a full range of single layer plastic, UV protected greenhouse coverings - suitable for warmer climates." http://www.joelskousen.com/Secure/recommended.html Neither site specifies whether the plastic in the film is polyethylene. Search, via Google: "plastic greenhouse film" ://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF8&q=%22plastic+greenhouse+Film%22 sublime1-ga |
