I am working on a project where I am determining the musical score for a video. I have MP3 clips -- each between 3-4MB in size -- that I need to share with a colleague in another state. Here ar emy problems: you cannot find the music clips anywhere online, the file size is too huge to send via e-mail, I cannot do FTP or whatever you do to post it to a Web site, the free message boards like Yahoo Groups have a restriction on file size and each clip exceeds the limits, and neither of us wants to get involved in any of the Napster/Kaazaa-like stuff -- my colleague just needs to hear the clips, then she'll blast them off her machine. Is there any easy way I can get this info for her to review, either through e-mail or finding a place where I can easily post the file and she can easily access it? | |

Hi! Thanks for accepting my proposal for an answer. One really good way to solve your problem is to get an online file storage service. You just create an account and then upload the file. You can then choose the other person who may have acces to these files. Here are services that have trial offers and are rather cheap as well. Xdrive http://www.xdrive.com/ Files Anywhere http://www.filesanywhere.com/PowerPlanPricing.htm @Backup http://www.atbackup.com/ Globedesk http://www.globedesk.com/service/pricing.html IBackup http://www.ibackup.org/ Streamload http://www.streamload.com/About/Services.asp?serv=online_storage Crypto Heaven http://www.cryptoheaven.com/online-storage.htm FileGenie http://www.filegenie.com/services.cgx My Docs Online http://www.mydocsonline.com/enterprise_prices.html Floppy Center http://www.floppycenter.com/ First Backup http://www.firstbackup.com/Product/Pricing/default.asp Novastor http://services.online-backup.com/store/deptmain_ols.asp Same Page http://www.same-page.com/share_files.html DATA Barracks http://www.databarracks.com/default.asp 1Disk http://www.1disk.com/storage.asp iStorage http://www.iomega.com/istorage/ Search terms used: free trial online file storage I hope these links would help you in your research. Thanks for the good work, easterangel! To be honest, I used espred77's YouSendIt.com solution -- it was EXACTLY what I needed and very easy to use! |

Something I personally use is the Yahoo Briefcase: http://briefcase.yahoo.com To set-up an account is free! Each account gives you 30 MB of space and you can upload files up to 5 MB in size. Simply set-up an account and share the details with your colleague and you should be able to share as many MP3s as you need to. Regards, lotd |
