Question ID: 352733
I'm looking for qualified job listings in my area that meet my
requirements for part-time work. This might not be as easy to answer
as you would expect based on those requirements. But I haven't done a
lot of searching yet.

I've been developing a business for the past couple years. But at
this time it's not bringing in enough cash and I really need some
make-ends-meet kind of work, without ending my ability/time to work on
my business.

*A good answer would be*
-no less that 8 listing in my area that meet my requirements below
-job title and/or description, experience necessary, and compensation
-instuctions on how to apply for the position, e.g. send resume/cover
letter, call, etc.
-if available, a website or little background info on the employer would be good

BACKGROUND INFO

---------------------------------
My education and work experience
---------------------------------
I have a BS degree in journalism, though I haven't really worked
(much) professionally in that field. I also have a master's degree in
library and info services. I have about 3-4 years work experience in
that. I'm open to working out of my profession, although I prefer to
stay close to it because I can likely earn higher wages; but it's not
necessary. *I've attached my resume with personal info removed.*

It goes without saying that I don't want any listings that I don't
have the necessary experience to be hired. Though I am willing to be
trained.

---------------------
Desired type of work
---------------------
flexible. Anything from manual labor to professional work.

------
Hours
------
flexible. No more than 20 hours per week. I can't work on
Tuesdays/Thursdays from 3-5pm, at least until June 24, 2004.

-------------
Compensation
-------------
I need to make no less than $1000 per month. Straight commission NOT
ok because I need dependable money.

---------
Location
---------
I live in Baltimore, Maryland. I have a car but don't want to travel
more than about 20 miles to a work site. My zip code is 21217.

-----------------------------
Desireable BUT not necessary
-----------------------------
library positions
independent work
(legitamate!) work from home a big plus*
any work requiring research
any work requiring organizational skills
any work requiring good writing skills
work requiring business/enterpreneurial skills
thinking work is good, but mindless work is acceptable

---------------
Turn Offs
---------------
work requiring hard/cold selling and/or convincing
seriously unethical or questionable work

ok...zip code 21217, right near JHU, where there's an intreresting
little business goin down: scientific reasearch subjects! go over to
Hopkins, to Ames or Krieger halls (cognitive science, neuroscience,
and behavioral biology depts.) and look at all the bulletin boards.
They're loaded with flyers saying "research subject needed" Most will
pay you 10-30 dollars a hour for short studies, or in th hundreds for
those requiring a few days/appointments. Most involve really simple
cognitive tasks, some might be recorded on video, some might be done
in an fMRI, there's all kinds. I know, it's kind of random, and It's
definitely not steady income, but if you're dilligent, you can totally
make a lot of money. You could try the same thing down at the med
school, but they are anal about security there and you probably won't
be allowed in lots of buildings.

Just a thought...let me know if it works out
