Question ID: 35285
We need to find the five largest exporters from both Brazil and from
Argentina during the 12 month period of 2001 for "each" of the
following agricultural commodities: corn,sugar,wheat,soybeans.(In
other words,we need the five largest exporter companies for corn from
Brazil and also five from Argentina, the five largest exporter
companies for sugar from Brazil and also the five largest exporter
companies of sugar from Argentina,etc.).
                               We would need company contact
information (including phone numbers,e-mail,contact name, company web
site addresse, etc. Also would like to know for comparison
purposes, which company has the lowest prices for the above
products.Obtaining current or 2001 selling prices for orders of 50,000
metric/ton of each product by these select companies would give us
this information.Thank you for your help.

To determine who was the largest exporters of each commodity for
2001,kindly state the actual sales in US dollars in 2001 for that
commodity by the select company.

The challenge is finding the five largest exporters of each commodity.
I've been able to put together a list of large exporters, but there is
no way to verify if these particular ones are 1 through 5 in export
size. Even if we develop sales volume figures, there may be companies
that we don't find that are larger.

Is it satisfactory to provide you with a list of 5 "among the largest"
in each category?

It is satisfactory to provide me with a list of 5 "among the largest"
in each category? Also it is not necessary to give me sales
volume. That should save you some time.We are looking for the companies
in Argentina and Brazil or any country world-wide that have the lowest
prices for these commodities, size of companies is not that
important.Thank you for your assistance.

Hello, Collegestudent!

I'm posting this comment to clarify --as asked by The Google Answers
Team-- that I'm still working on this question. I've already got the
information about the five largest exporters from Argentina for all of
the asked comodities except sugar, and most of their contact
information. I rely on finding the rest of the required information in
the next few hours. If for any reason I could not, I'll post the
information already gathered, so you'll have it available and another
researcher could post the rest of the answer. I apologize if this long
time locking brouth someone any inconvenience --the question is quite
complex to find the information, that was the only reason. I hope the
information you get will justify the time employed to get it.

Regards,

Guillermo

Hi, Collegestudent,

Most interesting question. Hard to find info, as well. I first did an
off line research interviewing people of the agricultural business
that I know, who suggested me to go straight away to the governmental
agencies websites, so I did. At Secretaría de Agricultura, Ganaderia,
Pesca y Alimentos website (Agriculture, Cattle, Fishing and Food
Agency) there's a page titled Volúmenes Exportados de Granos (Grain
Exported Volumes), where a query may be done, where you can get the
exporter companies and there volume for chosen years, as I did for
2001, which was your request. The URL is:
http://www.sagpya.mecon.gov.ar/0-0/index/agricultura/index_agricultura.htm.
Unfortunately, in this site I couldn't find this kind of information
for sugar. Next, I'm listing the big five for each of corn, wheat and
soybeans, with their contact information. Please notice that Dirección
means Address, Ciudad means City, Provincia means Province, and
Capital Federal is the Federal District, corresponding to the city of
Buenos Aires, that you shouldn't confuse with Buenos Aires Province.
All telephone numbers must be preceded by country code 54.

Most contact information was obtained using the Argentine Industry
Guide (Guía de la Industria) webpage (
http://www.guiaindustria.com.ar/ngc_commerce/default.asp) search
engine (you'll find it as Busque Aquí, Search Here).

Unfortunately, due to an unexpected situation, not related with this
search, that I must handle right now --and will take me out of town a
couple of days-- I can’t go further with this research. I’m strongly
confident that the remaining information can be found with some more
hours working, so I deeply regret not being able to continue myself.
That’s why I’m posting the information compiled so far as a comment
instead of the final answer, which obviously is not yet complete, but
maybe a third part of it. I apologize.

I trust that some of my fellow researchers will successfully complete
it. Otherwise, when I came back I’d be glad to finish the job.

Best regards,

Guillermo
