Is the online Certificate Program from The Paralegal Learning Center of New
Hampshire (www.paralegallearningcenter.com) recognized or accredited
by the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA)? The PLC website
offers the following: "The Paralegal Learning Center is licensed by
the Postsecondary Education Commission for the State of New Hampshire.
The Paralegal Learning Center is a member of The National Association
of Legal Assistants (NALA) and National Federation of Paralegal
Associations, Inc. (NFPA). The Paralegal Learning Center Faculty are
members of The State Bar of California, The District of Columbia Bar,
The Maryland State Bar and The New York State Bar." Is it also
recognized by the NJSBA? Thanks for your help.

Interesting, but when checking the New Hampshire Postsecondary
Education Commission's listings of schools, the Paralegal Larning
Center of New Hampshire wasn't there.

It does make you wonder if you might do better with paralegal training
IN New Jersey if you seek a position with a New Jersey law firm.

The statement does not say that the school is recognized by the bars
of CA, DC, MD and NY. Faculty members belong to those bars.

Also, while a few states (e.g., CA) do regulate the term "paralegal",
this word is often meaningless. Many law firms call such personnel
"legal assistants".
