Question ID: 353393
Has there been any significant advances in bombarding the nuclei of
atoms WITHOUT loosing the liberated particles?

Clarification of Question by npm01-ga on 29 May 2004 04:39 PDT
Somewhere a team of physicists must be trying to isolate the particles
of atoms. This or these teams must be experimenting ways of keeping
such particles in isolation and then, eventually, they should also be
experimenting ways of reintagrating the particles into different
atoms. In theory, it should work. Why would they want to do this?
That's another question. This is question is simply: Are they trying
to do this? If yes, have they significantly advanced?
