Hi There !

I am looking for air travel sites that offer significant discounts.

Being a pre-Internet old guy, I can still remember driving to the
airport at the last minute, and putting my name on the "Standby List"
for 3 different destinations. Usually a seat would open up on one of
these, and I would be off for an adventure at 60%-80% off the normal
fare.

Nowadays, seems to me the outfits that call themselves "last minute"
are really not. The discounts seem to run just 5%-15%. Even worse,
although they're "last minute," they often require booking 3-10 days
in advance. Where's the fun in that? Boo!!!

A 5-star answer would be 5 Internet sites that offer *significant* discounts
and the ability to book at the last minute. Please note I've already
found the following sites myself:

www.travelocity.com
www.expedia.com
www.orbitz.com
www.lastminutetravel.com
www.priceline.com
www.skyauction.com

All comments greatly appreciated.

Thanks a million !

I Had a good time with some standby flights a few years ago. The Best
recent travel deals I have seen have been on Travel Zoo's Top 20.
They send out an email a week which has had some extremly good deals
ont it

Thanks, Snowdog !

I agree completely about TravelZoo. Another service called Sherman's
Travel is trying to emulate TravelZoo. But TravelZoo is still better.

Thanks again, Snowdog.
