In the 2002-2003 school year NYC School Superintendents were offered
bonuses up to $40,000 in merit bonuses. This was funded by the New
York Partnership and you'll read in many newspaper articles that this
was a one year pilot program. Klein (the school chancelor of NYC)
said, though, that if it was successful that it would continue in the
03/04 school year. The information I need is IF this program was/has
been carried over to the 03/04 school year. I've searched Lexis Nexis
newpaper archives and have not been able to find clear evidence that
it has or has not been carried over. I know the NYC Partnership isn't
funding it anymore, but is it still funded by someone? Will
superintendents get bonuses in 03/04 as they did in 02/03. Also, it
would be helpful, but not key to know if the NYC Public Schools funds
the program now, if it has continued. Evidence must be clear that it
has continued, not "probably" or "likely" has continued. |
