I am looking for the number of mechanically strong (i.e. particularly
USP number 0 and stronger) sutures used per year, if possible
separated in absorbable and non-absorbable.
Specifically, I need the number of sutures used which are loaded
strongly such as in tendon to bone repair or in the combination with
suture anchors, that means all repairs in which gap formation of the
repair due to the mechanical loading might be of importance.

Alternatively, it would also be helpful to get the number of
tendon-to-bone repairs, ligament-to-bone repairs, tendon-to-tendon,
ligament-to-ligament, large fascia and comparable repairs, including
osteosutures. Please exclude sutures used in soft tissue repair such
as of intestines and skin.

Information which would allow to extrapolate the searched number would
also be useful. (Such as information for only one country would be
sufficient.)

Typical examples of such sutures are Ethibond by Ethicon, Ticron by
Davis and Geck(?), Fiber Wire by Arthrex, PDS, Panacryl and
comparables.
