Please list five remarkable (unique, indelible, market creating,
word-of-mouth spreading) products that you and/or a co-worker use today
that did not exist (or you did not use) one year ago.

CQLMark --

I can give you 5 examples of products, though not every one is "market
creating" inasmuch as at least one is a consumable. Note that ALL
have existed more than a year; for some it's a new application while
for others I (and co-workers) early adopters.

Does this fit your needs?

Best regards,

Yes - for now that fits. I may ask for expansion in a future question.

Mark --

Here goes. I thought of a couple of new ones since I wrote the
original note so you're going to get more than 5:

* Linksys 802.11g wireless router. Enables communications with all
of the PCs in the office, including portables.
* AOL Instant Messaging has existed for a while. My daughter (a high
school student) has been an active user for years. Last July a
financial editor with whom I work started to use it to coordinate the
work of its freelance people.
* Microsoft Wireless keyboard and mouse. This is 27MHz technology
that we're using with a USB connection. It's called "Microsoft
Wireless Optical Desktop Elite" and uses an optical mouse (which is a
substantial improvement over a mechanical mouse):

* Online banking. We've been late adopters, as Bank of America for
years charged a fee for a service that was actually SAVING them money.
Now it's free; now we use it.
* SMS text messaging to cellphones. Easy way to reach our daughter.
We've had cellphones for years but only got text messaging about a
year ago.
* MLB Extra Innings: the out-of-market broadcasts for baseball teams
available on cable and satellite TV networks. Finally got it to watch
the Cleveland Indians from Seattle.
* RainX is a cleaner for car windshields. It has a fine-grade pumice
to cut through grease and oils that can accumulate on the glass and
cause streaking when windshield wipers are used. The new application:
I tried it on soap film on the glass doors of the shower and it works
wonderfully.

Not exactly what I was looking for but it was exactly what I asked
for. This was my first time so the lesson is worthwhile. I will use
the service agian for sure.
