Here's a little more about Toby:

Q. What can you tell me about the little lost dog in the MasterCard commercials?
?Lori D., Seaford, Del.
A. That?s Toby, a 2 1?2-year-old Boston terrier. Director Scott Hicks
tells us he selected Toby to play the lead in the commercials because
?he had a Charlie Chaplin quality.? His trainer, Nicole Zuehl, says
her dog?s debut during the Oscars brought a flood of offers for more
commercials and possible film work."

Yep, Billy Crudup has been MasterCard's "priceless" voice since '97.

Who knew?! Those voice-overs can throw you for a loop. I remember
being somewhat stunned to learn that the burglar from "Home Alone"
(Daniel Stern) was the voice of "The Wonder Years."

yay, the j-man comes thru again for granny. you betcha, that dog IS
very little trampish. I loved him in that motorcycle sidecar w/his
goggles on and knew he was destined for stardom. I bet it's a remake
of the Patty Hearst Story. I shall ring up McEr in NYC with my
project 'ideas.' thank you, dearest scoutboy.

I love those commercials. Somehow I hope they don't continue Badger's
saga. I would like to imagine him living to a happy old age with his
family, having no further adventures other than chasing an occasional
squirrel or finding half a sandwich that someone dropped on the floor.
This would not make for a very interesting ad.

If I ever wander off and get lost, I hope some kind soul will cart me
across the country and give me a silk bed and a bubble bath.

Somehow I doubt it.

{sigh} you're right, as always, Ms. Pink. I just wish that ad
campaign had been a little longer ... maybe have him visit the 48
contiguous states while he:

tangles victoriously with a mean real life badger

gets discovered by a Hollywood agent and is forced into Fabreze commercials

is kidnapped by the Slim Jim Bolognese Army, then changes his name to Tanya,
and is implicated in the Hibernia Bank robbery

shares a latte with the International Coffee commercial couple

is recruited as a porno pinup pup for the '2005 Boston Terriers Go Wild' calendar

has a homosexual liaison with Baxter, the sneezing Zyrtec terrier

ya know ...like that....

okay, so how about the contact info for the ad agency instead?

Wow, I didn't recognize Billy Crudup's voice. He's an interesting
actor. Brave guy to keep that name, too.

The dog really looks like a "Toby." I can imagine his little face on a mug.

granny would like to call him "Kunta" instead ... the dog, not Billy.
can you imagine Kunta Crudup? {snort} call that name out in an
unemployment line with a straight face.

thanks for playing, Ms. Pink Slip of Freud. always a pleasure. I'll
catch you next time!

Well, thank you for the tip, Granny. That scene with the motorcycle
goggles was my favorite as well. :-)
