I am currently a Loan Officer Licensed in California and would like information on starting my own brokerage. Most are tight lipped about this subject. Questions: Do I need a broker license if I incorporate? How do I become a direct lender? |

Do you mean the lenders are tight-lipped? There are many lenders. AF went out on his own and started his own shop. It's www.ushomeloan.com and I have no affiliation since 2002, he is just a nice guy and AF. I remember he talked a lot about meeting net capital requirements and how his personal financial situation was important to the lenders. So I imagine you would want to make yourself look as good as possible on paper. Your relationship with the lender is important. They want you to send them both quality and quantity of business. You need to be a detail-oriented processor who sends them files that they don't have spend time re-arranging. Also, they judge you on your character. They will trust you not to lie on apps. Research the various state laws. Even if a license is not required it is often a good idea. Good luck. |
