I live in China. It's summertime, and that means cooking on the
grill. I've given up just about everything I know from my own
culture, but I insist on cooking out. When I returned from a recent
short trip to America, I brought back a nice compact portable gas
grill. I don't want a large standup one, a smaller grill is best for
me. Predictably, the LP gas bottles in China use a different
connector than the gas bottles in America. So, I need one of the
following things:

1) An adapter that will allow an American-style regulator to connect
to a Chinese-style LP propane bottle. (preferred)

2) A Chinese gas grill. I can't find one at any store, A Best,
Carrefour, or Metro. All they have is charcoal grills. My Chinese
friends insist that there are no gas grills in China.

3) A way to transport an American LP bottle to China, and a method of
refilling said bottle using the existing Chinese infrastructure.

4) A new regulator that will connect to the existing burner.

1.) have you considered opening a gas-grill import/selling biz in
china??? you'll be rich, rich, rich!!!!!

2.) I think you may have luck trying a plumbing, welding supply, grey
haired old craftsman and letting him hack and cobble you one together
for a couple of rmb's, and a chicken... One can use rubber
hose(something durable and stable to heat like a heater hose you could
get from an auto supply) to patch into the US part of the valve that
connects into the grill. Since you're post valve the hose doesn't
hold pressure. As long as you're using it and keeping it outside and
ventilated(which you should do anyway), you should be fine.

Good luck!
