weapons manufacturers or those working in the reconstruction [of
Iraq], such as Halliburton and its sister companies.."

thanks for your info -- but i'm not looking for stocks traded on the
US exchanges; i'm looking to invest in stocks traded on the iraqi
exchange.

i.e. looking to profit from long-run enterprise in Iraq, not from the war itself.

Extrepid --

About 15 years ago, when it was clear that the U.S.-led coalition
would be going to war with Iraq over the Kuwaiti invasion, Forbes did
an article on the moribund Baghdad Stock Exchange. One gentleman
perservered in operating it, even though there were no trades on many
days.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find the article in an Infotrac search. It
seems that the real opportunity would be to establish a stock exchange
in Iraq.

Best regards,
