Hello, I am dealing with a problem I would like to discuss, I need to design a server side application that a client can download files from, The file itself is 35megs of XML data. The options are: webservices Secured FTP HTTPS the credentials sent to the server must be encrypted. and authentication is done by a third party product. Application must be written in C# .net on IIS web server. I tend to go with HTTPS since believe this will be the simples layout though I am not sure how to handle a case where the download stops and need to continue after a while from the same point. suggestions? does anyone see any benefit by using Secured FTP or Web services? (over HTTPS and Secured FTP I believe I can zip the xml file to 1/10th of its origianll size) |
