Hi. I'm looking for recent data (2002 or later) on the number of
academic molecular biology researchers in the US/Worldwide. Academic
meaning: researchers at universities and non-profit/government
institutions, NOT industry. Historical and future projections would
also be helpful, as well as if the data is segmented by region or
education level. 

I will need the source for the data, as I will be citing it.
