Hi.
I'm having great trouble setting up my WPS54GU2. I've successfully
configured the wireless section of it, and it's "talking" to my
network. I can ping it, and can access it via the Web Admin and the
"Bl-Admin" software. The printer, attached via Parallel, is a Kyocera
FS 1020D.
The problem is with the Print Driver utility (or rather the Print
Server utility). When I click on Print Driver Setup, it successfully
finds the Linksys Print Server and displays the FS 1020D on Port 1,
but when I *choose* this, it says "Addport fail."
I spoke to Linksys Tech Support who weren't very helpful at all.
Apparently (and this isn't documented in the manual), I need to
physically connect the printer to my PC, install the printer driver,
plug the printer *back* into the Linksys Print Server, and run the
Print Driver utility again.
I've tried all this without luck, and am really stumped. I had hoped
it would be easier, and am really very keen to get this working; it
wasn't cheap!
Hopefully, someone can advise.
Many thanks in advance,
William
