Question ID: 355535
I am creating a database in Excel. I need to reference information
from another worksheet. the information ranges from 1 row to 15+ rows
of text ( all with 5 columns). I dont know how to pull up the info
(which can be 1 of 100 records) without knowing how many rows will be
displayed. I am sure that this can be done, possibly with using Visual
Basic. Or is there a function to do this?

Hello Ajachimowicz,

You can certainly do a lot with Visual Basic, but I don't quite
understand what you want to do.

For example, when referring to another sheet (or workbook), you can
basically select any range of cells. Something like
  Sheet1!$A$1:$E$5
would refer to a fixed range of 25 cells from A1 through E5 in the
sheet named "Sheet1". You can also go to a cell and then "Go To" to
the "Current Region" or "Current Array" to select the adjacent cells
bounded by empty rows / columns. The latter may be what you are
looking for - since you copy the region, count the rows / columns, and
so on.

However, I am not sure what you are asking for by "knowing how many
rows will be displayed". The latter would be dependent on the size of
the window and not the data in the database. [or are you asking for
the size of the "database"?]
