BACKGROUND

The PIM market is primarily dominated by two products: Microsoft
Outlook and Lotus Notes. The Radicati Group estimates there are 323
million Outlook users worldwide and 86 million Notes users worldwide.
However, there are many other players in the PIM market. Some other
widely used PIMs are Palm Desktop, Microsoft Entourage, Now
Up-to-Date, Chronos Personal Organizer, Ximian Evolution, Apple's
iCal/AddressBook, Groove, ACT!, GoldMine, DayLite, and the list goes
on.
