I know about the Ambient Orb (http://www.ambientdevices.com), and that it came out of the MIT Media Lab's Tangible Bits Research Group (http://www.media.mit.edu/research/ResearchPubWeb.pl?ID=39 and http://tangible.media.mit.edu/projects/Tangible_Bits/projects.htm) I'd like links to 10 additional premier research groups that are examining similar issues, ie., how digital information can take a physical form and be seamlessly integrated in our physical environment. Along with each link, I'd like a brief statement stating why this group belongs in the "top 10." |

Pattie Maes' group at the MIT Media Lab is also exploring this (not the same as the Tangible Bits group): http://interact.media.mit.edu/ |
