In this link (http://www.instat.com/abstract.asp?id=86&SKU=IN0106IN)
you can find the description of a report regarding Intel’s processors.
The report apparently costs $1,995. According to the description,
table A-11 of the report is about Intel’s quarterly shipments by
processor family since 1995.

Hi,

In the past 2 days, I've been making valid attempts at getting this
information for you. Because I don't have a difinitive answer for
you, I'm posting this as a comment. My research took me all over the
Internet, of course including Intel's websites, and I a total of 9
phone calls made - most #800 and some long distance.

Because Intel sales include NASA, distributors, PDA's, etc., etc. the
best that I can come up with is BILLIONS! (Not such a surprise is
it?)

On one of my calls I spoke with a young man named Arizona in Customer
Service Presales (1-866-655-6565, option #1). He compared the
question to "How many McDonalds hamburgers have been sold worldwide
between 1993 and 1998?" :)

I know this doesn't answer your question, but just wanted to let you
know I've been working on solving this mystery. Good Luck to you!

Thanx for the effort. I spent a couple of hours looking up that info
but nada, except for the figures on Intel's website and i sure learned
some interesting facts about Intel. Guess I'm gonna have to find
access to one of those IDC or Gartner databases.
