Is anyone working on an MP3 player that reads the file names to you?

maybe you should clarify, do you mean like text-to-speech voice
synthisizers, like audible announcments before every song, or just
displaying the information on a lcd screen?

Yeah, TTS.  Like a DJ, to help me learn the band and song names, so I
don't have to look at a little LCD or the computer screen. (PC
software, PDA software, car-stereo, or walkman-style player is fine.)

From the programmer's point of view, I don't think there is enough
users with the need for it and it won't be something produced,
however, nullsoft has many plug-ins and you will probably find
something useful with them.
