Question ID: 356669
I'm looking for the weights of the Original (60's) Mini Cooper S and
new BMW 2001 or newer Mini Cooper S, in some comparable form. I know
I've seen vehicle weights Gross or Net, so that would have to be
specified, as it makes a big difference!

(Bonus $3 if you can find a weight for a 70's Honda 600 in the same format)

(By the way, I have never done this before, so let me know if I am
doing something wrong!) :)

Hello.

Here are the weights of the various original Mini Cooper models:

Weight (Cooper 997cc, 998cc, rubber cone) 1,400 lb (635 kg)
Weight (Cooper 997cc, 998cc, hydrolastic) 1,433 lb (650 kg)
Weight (Cooper S, rubber cone) 1,411 lb (640 kg) approx.
Weight (Cooper S, hydrolastic) 1,540 lb (698 kg) approx.

Thus, the Cooper S weighed either 1,411 lb (640 kg) or 1,540 lb (698
kg), depending upon the suspension. The rubber cone suspense was used
until 1964. After that, the hydroelastic suspension was used.

search strategy:

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip.

I notice that I typed "UK" twice. The second figures are for the US-spec Cooper S.

"The new US-spec Cooper S has a curb weight of 2678 lbs (1215 kg).
