I have a small personals site (15k members)and would like to know
where and how the very successful sites like match.com and yahoo
advertise for members. I use only Google Adwords now and get about 200
new signups a month which costs me about $300-$350 per month. Most of
the time I rank between 4 and 6 on the first page listings on adwords
when searching "free personals." I rank about 14 to 20 when searching
for "personals."

Hi there,

Match.com and Yahoo, both being large sites with enormous amount of
funding towards advertising expense, advertise on large scale. For
example, Match.com powers MSN Personals and has campaigned with
AskMen.com, a portal with 5 million monthly readers. It has also
repeatedly made the news with the release of new services. These
kinds of campaigns would be more than likely impossible for smaller
business. If you'd like, if you provide the link to your website, I
can make suggestions specific to your site and what would work best.

Thank you,
Tox-ga

The site is the process of changing the software that runs it on or
about 6-18-04. It may possibly be the same software match.com uses. It
actually has a few features match.com doesn't and the look on the
first page will have that 'professional' look much like match.com. I'm
hoping these changes will lead to more sigups. Any more info as to
where others such as I advertise successfully would be helpful.
