dshreves-ga,

Mr. Kiley pled guilty and was sentenced to two terms of a year and a
day each, to run concurrently, according to the files of the US
District Court in Maryland. He also faces 3 years of supervised
release, and was assessed a $200 fine. He was represented by the
Maryland Public Defender.

When did the jail term begin and when did it end? Did he already
serve his sentence or is it scheduled to begin shortly?

Hello again.

Although your original question only asked about the settlement and
sentencing of Mr. Kiley's case, I was able to find a bit of additional
information as to his current status.

According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator website at:

http://www.bop.gov/

they show the following for Mr. Kiley:

==========

Inmate Information for EDWARD A KILEY

Inmate Register Number :

 34776-037

Name :

 EDWARD A KILEY

Age :

 54

Race :

 WHITE

Sex :

 MALE

Projected Release Date :

 UNKNOWN

Location :

 NOT IN BOP CUSTODY

==========

A designation of "NOT IN BOP CUSTODY" often means that the inmate of
record was placed on parole, but I can't be certain if this is the
case for Mr. Kiley from the BOP information, nor am I aware of a
straightforward way of finding out such information.

You may want to consider posting a follow-up question, to ask a
researcher to find out what they can on the current status of Mr.
Kiley's confinement.

All the best,

dshreves-ga,

Thanks a lot for the very kind feedback.

I've been thinking about your follow-up question, which is a tougher
nut to crack than this first one. If I have any brainstorms, I'll be
sure to attempt an answer for it.

Thank you. It's difficult when you discover an old friend having
problems and this info sure explains a lot. If you can find out more
details and can verify if he did "time" or is about to do "time" or is
on probation, I would really appreciate it.
