Question ID: 357727
Is there evidence that tracheostomy in cervical spinal cord injured
patients who have had anterior-approach spinal stabilization leads to
more wound infection at earlier versus later tracheostomy placement.
For example, should one wait a week or more after cervical spinal
surgery to perform the tracheostomy?
Does percutaneous tracheostomy change this?
