This apparently is a somewhat common problem that people have been having. Fortunately, the fix is simple. According to Microsoft, "This error can be caused by a missing or damaged OLEAUT32.DLL file, It can also be caused by problems with the DLL, not being registered properly in the windows registry." They recommend closing out of MSN Messenger entirely (right-click on the icon by your system clock and click "exit", running the update file located at the URL below, and then rebooting your system. "VBRuntime" Update file from Microsoft: ------------------ http://download.microsoft.com/download/vb60pro/Redist/sp5/WIN98Me/EN-US/VBRun60sp5.exe ------------------ The full details are available at the following URL: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;555063 I hope this works out for you! --Joey Searching strategy: OLEAUT32 msn | |
