I need help making a decision.
Here are the "Knowns":
1. I am going to buy a Sirius radio soon (I am NOT interested in XM
Satellite) - I spend two hours a day commuting.
2. I must have the radio in my car. It would be nice to have at home,
but not necessary.
3. My built-in CD player in my car is broken, and I may consider
replacing this along with adding the Sirius. I currently have a
detached CD player in my car and am somewhat satisfied.
4. I am willing to spend money up to the "sweet spot" ? the most bang
for the buck. I am not one to spend money to be on the "bleeding
edge". I am guessing that I will end up spending $200 to $500 all
told.
5. I will NOT attempt to install the car radio myself (I learned my
lesson years back), but would install the home part (if applicable)
myself.
6. I am NOT interested in the boom-box hardware.
Here are the ?Questions?:
1. Are there independent / user ratings on the various hardware options?
2. Where is the best place to buy / the best person to have install
the hardware? Internet, big store, independent store?
3. How much would it cost (installed) to A) Have a built in Sirius
radio installed in car, B) Have a portable Sirius radio installed in
car, or C) Have a portable Sirius installed in car and have the
hardware setup for home use also.
4. For part A) above consider the quality of the radio hardware,
whether that price includes a CD player, who installs, etc.
5. Any installers in the north east Atlanta / Norcross area that have
gotten praise / been recommended (other than from Sirius or
self-advertising)?
6. What would you do if you were in my shoes?
Thank you. |
