I would like to find TV viewing figures for Formula 1 car racing for the period 1998-2004. The data should be per race and could be as % of (viewing) population or in absolute numbers viewing the race (e.g I am not interested in teasers before the race or the commentary after) FYI, information the Formula 1 races are broadcasted among others in the following countries: Argentina : Channel 3 Australia* : Channel 9 Austria* : ORF Belgium* : Kanaal 2 Brazil : Globo TV Britain* : ITV Canada : TSN and RDS Chile : Channel 7 and TVN Denmark* : DR1 and Supersport Germany* : RTL, DF1, ARD and DSF (Satellite) Greece: Alpha Finland : MTV3 and Supersport France* : TF1 and Canal + Germany* : RTL and DF1 Ireland* : Network 2 Iceland Italy* : Rai Due Japan Luxembourg Mexico : Televisión Azteca Netherlands : RTL4 and Canal + New Zealand : Sky Sport Norway* : Supersport and NRK Poland : Canal + Portugal* : RTP 1 Russia : TV-Center Slovakia : TV Markiza Slovenia : POP TV South Africa : SABC1 and M-NET Supersport Spain* : TV 3 and ETB Sweden* : TV 4 and Supersport Switzerland: United States* : ESPN2 and Speedvision I am particularly interested in the countries marked with an asterisks. I am happy to negotiate a fair price for smaller group of countries or even individual countries. A full price would necessitate at least 15 countries including at least 7 asterisked ones. Any information on top of these could be negotiated and compensated reasonably. Please let me know should you need further clarifications. Elina |

This is a seriously tough questions since FOM doesn't release any television viewing information. Some of the networks release their own viewing information periodically, but this typically only happens when they have record numbers of views either high, or low. I've got access to a few different F1 sources for News and statistics and wasn't able to come up with any information that would come even close to getting you the answer you're looking for. Wish I could help, now that you bring this up I'd be really interested in seeing those numbers as well. forgey |
