Here is what I?ve been able to locate for you:

Need for drug/alcohol counselors (occupational outlook)
Spokane labor market information for Counselors, Social Workers, and
Others (more inclusive category than just drug/alcohol counselors)
Occupational wages for 2003 for drug/alcohol counselors

I have not been able to find the demographic information about percent
of males/females employed as drug/alcohol counselors.

I can point you to the State of Washington website where you can do
extensive research about all aspects of labor market and current
employment profiles (State, County, SMA and WDA) and explore jobs,
industries, wages, etc.
