Yes, I only bid $2, but given the apparent ubiquity of the question, I
thought I might get more interesting answers than "why not?".
(Although the "best of" answer _almost_ got you off the hook.) I did
like the quote by Kipling. But in the end, the sheer number of answers
I recieved for my $2 made up for the less then penetrating replies, in
their totality.

So, you really do question the orders of Scriptor, who while disguised
as the mild mannered Claudius, Emperor and God, continues to battle
for TRUTH, JUSTICE AND THE ... ... ... oh never mind.

I have four dogs called Who?, Where?, Why? and What?... so, I'll ask them.

The answer seems to be: cocking of ear, woof and wagging of tail.

I think they know more than they're letting on...
