Xenical works by interfering with enzymes involved in the digestive
process for fat.  Xenical prevents approximately one-third of the fat
consumed in food from being absorbed by the body, thereby decreasing
the amount of calories available to the body.

With fewer calories available to it, the body uses its fat stores for
energy, thereby causing a reduction in fat.  Fat reduction will occur
wherever fat is stored, such as in the chest/breast, abdomen, waist,

Women typically accumulate fat around their thighs and hips, so more
fat would tend to be lost there because that is where it occurs.  It
is not possible to remove fat from only a specific part of the body.

Therefore, if the person taking Xenical has fat in their chest and
buttocks, and a combination of the medication and dietary restrictions
results in a caloric deficit, fat loss in the chest and buttocks will
eventually occur.  However, fat loss will occur throughout the body
wherever fat is present rather than in just those specific locations. 
And, depending upon the individual's genetics, fat may be removed from

I'm not a doctor, I just play one on the internet.  I don't know much
about nothin.  I'm answering this question for free, so you got what
you payed for.

The short answer to your question is absolutely YES! now if I was a
google answer guy, I could have made $10 smakeroonies already!

The long answer is, YES, eventually, probably not as fast as you want,
and you should read up on diets before you decide to put somethin like
a lipase inhibitor(Xenical) in your body.

Strictly speaking, where your body decides to burn fat in order to
operate is strictly up to your body. Eventually, you'll burn fat from
where you want it.  In order to burn fat(your body's long term energy
source), you gotta take in less energy(calories), than you're
eating(food).  That's the simple math. Thermodynamically speaking, it
doesn't particularly matter (+/- a few calories) in general what you
eat, thus we have Atkins, SouthBeach and my favorite, the
pistacio-buckwheat-icecream-noodle diet.  Statistically it makes a
difference, consult a nutritionist for the real deal and try what you
like.

Most nutritionists will tell you that running a small deficit (a
couple hunnerd caloreeez a day) is the best way to lose weight and
keep it off. You can do this by, dieting, excersizing, or taking one
of them thar fancy Xenical pills.

One can try the age old process of dieting by eating less food.  This
process works for a lot of people I reckon, in that this is what we
all try. BUT!(and i like buts), when one goes on a caloree restricted
diet, one's metabolism(the body's rate of burning calories), s-l-o-w-s
down.  The net result is twofold:  First you lose a bunch of weight
and then you get stuck, and start putting weight back on.  Primarily
because, first you were heavier and burning more calories when you
started the diet, second because when you got lighter, you required
less calories when you started and now that you've slowed your
metabolism down to starvation levels, any extra food your body can
find now gets stored as fat!  It kinda sucks that the more weight you
lose, the less food you get to eat! Those bastards!

As a member of the fatbody-lazy-dood club, it is assuring to know that
my fine colleagues in the pharmaceutical industry are busy at work
inventing high dollar scientific stuff like Xenical. Xenical is a
blocker of lipase, and enzyme which is used to break down fat in the
digestive system.  Thus if you eat a diet that is what many dieticians
recommend, you'll block the many of the calories that come from
fat(about 20-30%) and run a good deficit..  However, if you're on one
of those idiot low-fat diets, Xenical won't help you!  If you're on
the Atkins diet, bad things might happen(I don't know-but you might
block a major source of calories and you could really get into
starvation mode).  So if you decide to take it, keep this in mind. 
With respect to slowing down your metabolism, I'm not sure you'll see
much of an effect, because you're still moving food through your body,
however, how many calories you will burn depends largely on the
deficit your run and how for long.  Thus, such a program should be
managed by an experienced nutritionist, dietician or medical
professional!

Now, as I'm sure everyone has told you(and me both) we gotta get off
our fancy leather trimmed computer chairs and out from behind our
monitors and go do some exercise!  The good news is, you don't have to
do much!  Once you figure out what you weigh, you can figure out how
many calories your allowed to eat, and then you just gotta eat a few
less and do a little exercise(like burn a hundred extra caloreeees)
every day or so.  If you do this, I give you a money back
guarantee(hahaha...i'm not getting payed for this!!! )  your
metabolism will stay fast, and you'll have a happy deficit and feel
better.  As long as you keep track of how much you weigh, you can
figure out how much you should be eating, and whammo you're good to
go, just keep adjusting as you lose.

If there is one thing that I would really like to say in this
opinionated free rant, it is that I can't stress enough what a good
diet will do for you.  Eat plenty of vegetables(with whole, real
fiber). Drink plenty of fluids(more water and less diet coke!), eat
some healthy fats like olive oil and coconut oil( the saturated fat
freaks are gonna flame me!). Stay away from the trans-fats cuz those
are the bad ones.  Eat cheeseburgers and KFC when you want to, just
don't make it a lifestyle. If you don't like real food like grandma
used to make, then my advice is to learn how to cook(it can be a fun
experience) and find stuff you like.  Last stay away from the fake
foods that are low in substance(volume) and high in caloreees.
  
Does it matter if you get hungry one day and eat 3 happy meals and two
packages of ho-hos for breakfast?  NO.  Generally speaking you gain
weight by eating a large surplus over a period of time.  You're going
to be hungrier some days than others, listen to your body, try hard
eat a little less than what you require(don't starve yourself), do a
little exercise(no need to kill yourself), and viola! weight will come
off zippy quick! guaranteed or your money back!!!
