I am having a ROYAL problem trying to import my mbx files into Microsoft entourage
I started with importing PST (from outlook) to outlook express then
taking the dbx files from express and using a converter program-
converted to MBX file - this all went fine

-- I have the MBX files on a folder on my desk top of my MAC and when
I am in entourage and I go to file/import/import from a text file/mbx
-- i give it the file location but it will NOT allow me to
highlight/choose the files that are there! (they are grayed out)

I then tried to import the files into Mac mail (also called
entourage)- NO problem - they went in just fine -- but that is not
where i want them! I want them in Microsoft entourage!

I tried to using the Microsoft entourage import from program... and one would
think that the MAC version of microsoft entourage (mail) would list
Mac entourage -- (mac mail) as one that it could import from ...nope!!

need some help here!! I have come to far to give up and want the full
features of microsoft entourage as my main program

I then trid importing the mbx

An I right saying that the original mails are in a PC (with windows)
or they are on a Mac computer (OS ?)?
In other words, originally from where do you want to export your mails
to Entourage (and which version of Outlook and Entourage)?

Thank you.

Hi!!

If the original mails are in Outlook (not Outlook Express) in a PC
(with windows) and you want to export them to Microsoft Entourage in a
Mac computer ( with OS ?), please try with the following free
software:
"Outlook2Entourage":
A tool for converting Microsoft Outlook contacts and emails into a
format suitable for bulk importation into Microsoft Entourage X.

"Outlook2Entourage" page:
http://www.usethesource.com/Software/02/06/11/167208.shtml

Download page: (just unzip and run setup.exe)
http://www.usethesource.com/o2e.zip

if this works please let me know and I will post this in the answer
box to claim the prize, if not please update me with the details and I
will continue the research for a solution.

Regards.

I have all the files in Mac mail -- I now need to get them in to
Microsoft entourage from there

not outlook to entourage ...

in any case I did try that program and it just converting them into
the mbx files .... just done a bit different then how I did the
conversion originally -- and in any case-- I did try and the program
craped out on me in the middle - said i could not convert my contacts

Hi again!!

Here is what I found:

Entourage 2004 imports natively from Mail.app, so I guess that you
don't have this version. So try one of the following methods:

FIRST method:
"(Import into Entourage 2001 and Entourage X from) Apple mail.app:
Double-click the Import from Mail script in the following folder:
Microsoft Office X CD/Value Pack/Utilities/Import from Mail.
When the script is finished, click OK
Now simply start Entourage as usual. Your imported messages are in the
Import from Mail folder under On My Computer.
You must (re-)apply the Office 10.1.2 Updater, and any subsequent
updaters (10.1.4, 10.1.5), AFTER installing Import from Mail from the
Value Pack on the CD. You only get the updated (new replacement)
Import from Mail script if you first install it from the Value Pack,
then apply 10.1.2.
You absolutely need the updated script if you are in Jaguar (OS
10.2.x). Apple moved the location of the Mail mailboxes in Jaguar so
only the new script can find them."
From "The Entourage Help Page":
http://www.entourage.mvps.org/import_export/another.html

SECOND method:
Use as an intermediary the mail client Eudora 6.1 (or any previous version).
First download Eudora (use Sponsored mode, it's free) from here:
http://www.eudora.com/products/eudora/download/mac_osx.html

Install it and use the Import feature that supports direct import from Apple Mail:
"Eudora 6.1 - Importing into Eudora":
In Eudora 6.1, go to File: Import. Select the account(s) you wish to import.
http://www.eudora.com/techsupport/newto6/migrate.html#mac

According to Microsoft Knowledge Base, Entourage can import data
directly from Qualcomm Eudora (any version).
See "ENT2001: How to Import Data in Entourage":
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;273652&Product=ent2001

THIRD method:
If none of the above methods work, you must try with the followin shareware:
"Emailchemy":
"Emailchemy reads email from the proprietary formats of the most
popular (and many of yesterday's forgotton) email applications and
converts it to a standard, portable format that any application can
use."
http://www.weirdkid.com/products/emailchemy/index.html

"Emailchemy User Manual":
http://www.weirdkid.com/products/emailchemy/doc/index.html

Read the following sections:
-Supported email formats:
http://www.weirdkid.com/products/emailchemy/doc/index.html#formats

-Trialware Notice:
http://www.weirdkid.com/products/emailchemy/doc/index.html#trialware

-Using Emailchemy:
http://www.weirdkid.com/products/emailchemy/doc/index.html#using

Search strategy:
"mac mail" entourage import
"mac mail" entourage export
"mac mail" import eudora

I am sure that one of this methods will work in your case. But in any
case feel free to request for any clarification or further assistance
needed, I will gladly respond all your request until you can solve
your problem.

Best regards.
