I am interested in seeing a medical study on finasteride induced
impotence. In particualr I would like to see the hormones affected in
the study and any treatment regimes that were successful in reversing
the symptons. I would like the study to be based on males less than
40 years of age.

Snowking-ga,

Your question is an interesting one. I've spent a good part of the
day finding and reviewing much of the available literature on
finasteride and impotence (a search on those terms returned 39
relevant studies in medical journals).

One thing that is very clear is that no studies that I've yet seen are
focused on men under 40 years of age. Several studies included
40-year olds (and younger men) in the study group, but none were
exclusive to under-40 year olds. Typically, the average age of the
men involved were in their 60's.

Also, none of the studies I've looked at thus far are available in
their entirely as a free online document. Unless you have access to a
medical database, you'll only be able to access the article abstracts
online. A typical abstract looks like this:

=====

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=pubmed&dopt=Abstract&list_uids=12918887

Comparison of finasteride and alpha-blockers as independent risk
factors for erectile dysfunction.

=====

Furthermore, several of the articles are highly technical in
nature...this holds true even for some of the abstracts. It would
help to have a good grounding in medical studies to make sense of much
of what is reported.

With all those caveats, I did not want to post an answer to your
question that didn't meet your needs. Please let me know how (or if)
you would like me to proceed on this.

Thanks.
