Hi there, Most recently, 5 million domain names are registered monthly (in 2003) with 1.5 million in one month being the peak (October). This data applies for all the .com and .net domains registered, and was released by Verisign, which operates the .com and .net registries. These two are the biggest extension and cover more than half the total volume of the possible 250 extensions. Please refer to the following article for more information: http://www.nwfusion.com/newsletters/isp/2004/0301isp1.html You may also be interested in "The Domain Name Industry Brief," published by Verisign, which details several trends in the domain name industry. I hope this has helped and please feel free to request clarification. The answer given is clearly wrong "Most recently, 5 million domain names are registered monthly (in 2003)with 1.5 million in one month being the peak (October)." How can 5 million domain names be registered monthly with a peak of 1.5 million in one month? Peak means the highest value. How can you average 5 with the highest value being 1.5? |
