Dear politicalguru-ga,

I would like to know how the Maltese National Income is calculated.
All that I know is that there are three approaches on how to calculate it:-
1) Using the output Approach were the GDP at factor cost is measured.
then add the net property income from abroad, which results in the GNP
at factor cost. Then deduct the depreciation from which we have the
net National Product
2) Using the Income Approach were the gross Domestic Income at fector
cost is calculated and by adding the Net property income from abroad
we have the Gross National Income. Then deduct the depreciation and
finally we obtain the Net National Income
3) Using the Expenditure Approach were the Gross Domestic Expenditure
at MArket Prices is calculated then by deducting the Indirect tax and
the subsidies we obtain the Gross Domestic expenditure at factor cost.
Then by deducting the net production income from abroad we have the
gross national expenditure. then by deducting the depreciation we
obtain the Net National Expenditure

All the three results above should be equal.

But I would like you to explain it to me since I do not know the
economic technical words used above what they mean.

Thamks and regards
