Numerous online resources list Garrett, WA as either a city or a CDP (census designated place). However, I live in this region and cannot find any evidence of the existence of Garrett, WA. What is the origin of this CDP and why does it exist in the U.S. census bureau database? |

Hello Scotru It does appear that Garrett, WA exists but it is very small (1000 people, 2.1 square miles)! There are a few different websites that detail its existance and have data on its location: http://www.city-data.com/city/Garrett-Washington.html http://censtats.census.gov/data/WA/1605326245.pdf http://us-cities.realdictionary.com/Garrett-CDP-WA.asp http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?country=US&countryid=250&addtohistory=&searchtab=address&searchtype=address&address=&city=garrett&state=wa&zipcode=&search=++Search++ http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&GridE=-120.4247872899&GridN=47.3995501156896&lon=-120.4247872899&lat=47.3995501156896&state=WA&db=US&pc=&overviewmap=&scale=4000000&lang=&client=public&cidr_client=none&advanced=&addr2=&place=Washington&addr3=garrett Some of the reasoning behind CDP's can be found here: http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/Census-designated%20place I hope this information is useful to you. Should you require any further assistance please ask for clarification and I will do all I can to help. | |
