I'm looking for a list of the closest 24hr McDonald's restaurants near Berkeley, CA (zip code 94704). No hard limit in terms of proximity, but I'd like a few options (2-3) to choose from. :) | |

There are some that exist. In Atlanta (where I reside), there are a number of 24-hour drive-through locations that have popped up in the area over the past six months. While the eat-in area closes around 11pm or midnight, their drive-through service runs 24 hours. I unfortunately cannot help you with information regarding the availability of them in northern California. |

The McDonald's employee who claimed "no 24 hour McDonald's" is misinformed. There are two such restaurants in Toledo, OH, both operated by a local franchisee. This appears to be a relatively new phenomenon being tested by some corporate and franchise markets, so it's entirely possible that there simply isn't one in or near Berkeley just yet. missy-ga |

cbc: Have you ever tried the Smokehouse on Telegraph Ave? I know it's open relatively late (until 1:20am according to this UC web page: http://uga.berkeley.edu/resource/webfiles/r09_5e.html ). I've eaten there many times and can personally recommend their burgers. |

Just a data point - the McDonalds on US59 in South Olathe, KS is going to a 24 hour schedule. I think it's a test-bed for the new McDonalds that will be put up on the Kansas Turnpike later this year. They seem to be replacing all the Hardees stores with McDonalds. |
