how to "rename" a column letter in microsoft excel - A-B-C I want to rename these.

Hello Dellitron,

There is a way to add labels in row 1 / column 1 (or A) and have those
values always displayed on the screen and suppress the row / column
headers. This will look like what you are looking for. Would that kind
of solution be acceptable?

I very much doubt if the Identifiers for Rows or Columns are editable.

You cannot do that.  What you need is a row of headers within the
spreadsheet cells.  You would usually supply these on row 1.

I thought I had a excel sheet at another company I worked for - but
can not remember what that set-up looked like -

YES I JUST CALLED SOMEONE FROM THE COMPANY - THE HEADERS WERE ON ROW 1 
NOT WHERE THE LETTER WERE ------
