Hi hamhocker!

In what city and state are you located? This will help me track down
the person you'll need to speak with to obtain permission to reproduce
your photos.

Good morning, hamhocker.

I had posted this as a comment earlier, as there was something in the
answer spot. That seems to have disappeared, so here is the answer to
your question, with a bit more information to help you out:

JC Penney Portraits, while bearing the JC Penney name, are not owned
by the JC Penney Company. They are owned by Lifetouch Portrait
studios - the same people who travel from school to school for
portrait photography. JC Penney Portraits and Lifetouch are based in
Eden Prarie, Minnesota.

I spoke with Karen at the JC Penney Portraits customer service center
this morning. She said you may do one of two things to obtain
copyright permission:

Take the portraits in to your nearest JC Penney Portraits location,
and ask for a "Copyright Permission Form" - the people there can help
you fill it out. You can find a Studio Locator here (near the bottom,
it searches by ZIP code):

...Or you can call the Customer Service Department to speak to one of
the nice representatives there. You can talk to Karen or someone like
her between the hours of 8AM and 4:30PM Central Time - you'll need to
give her the numbers on the back, the approximate date of the sitting,
and of course, your location.

Though I had the information last night, I wasn't able to double-check
with Customer Service until this morning. With luck, you're in a time
zone earlier than mine (Eastern), and will be able to reach them today
before they close!

Good luck!

Good morning, hamhocker.

I'm sorry to say, the answer that alejandro has posted (and
alienintelligence's comment) is incorrect.

I had wanted to post this information for you last night, but the
office had already closed for the day, so I couldn't double-check.

I hope this gets you what you need!
