Hi.

I want to create a web site that will display an (MS)Excel file (.xls)
(I have FrontPage and Visual Basic)

The idea is that the operator of the site will export a .xls file
from a certain program on his computer, and then place it on the
server, and the site will display it*.

The .xls in question contains a list of items + some details, so no
calculations should be displayed, however I would like to create
hyperlinks from some of the values. (The data will not be interactive,
and the site will be read-only)

p.s. - I'm not interested in buying additional software, and I must
use .xls file (or maybe if all else failes a MS-Word .doc file)

Thanks!

* - The list is a daily updated stock list, exported from a stock
management software, containing volumes and available quantities, when
selecting
an item the site only has to send a request mail for that item.

Save as "Web Page (HTML document)"

That's the whole point!
I want to display .xls files, not HTML files!

Provided the user has MS Office he can just open the file in his
browser hence all you need to do is link the file
If the person does not have office on their pc you will have to create
a webpage using cell references

for cell references use the following formula

This sounds perfect for a small free program to convert (I'm guessing
it's capable of) tab delimited items from an exported list to a HTML
table formatted page that automatically generates the links from the
items.

But, the above suggestions are correct.
