I would like to know how to unlock NEC e616 mobile phone which is
currently locked to 3 UK network.

As far as i could find the phone can not be unlocked unless you have
the 9 digit unlock code and even then it depends on the software
version of the phone , earlier versions can not be unlocked at all

the codes for unlocking are 

Code #7320*xxxxxxxx# , where ?xxxxxxxx? is the unlock code (?12345678?
does not work)
#4960*?.xxxxxxxx# xxxxxxxx# where "xxxxxxx" is any number will unlock
the phone in some cases but has to be entered again after you turn off
the phone
