Many devotional paintings are of the Madonna and child. Between the time of the Torcello mosaics, and the 16th century, what the most famous/significant treatments of this theme in Venetian art. Especially important are Bellini, Carpaccio, Titian, Giotto, and Giorgione. What's so great about the examples you are citing? |
