Hello paiasoloco and thanbk you for your question.

AMD supplies Ferrari with mobile PC systems and workstations based on
the AMD Opteron?, AMD Athlon? 64, mobile AMD Athlon 64, and AMD Athlon
64 FX processors.

"AMD is proud to be a key contributing part of this victorious team
and shares its core values of dedication and commitment to pushing the
barriers of technical excellence. The driving force behind the success
of this relationship lies with the implementation of AMD?s
cutting-edge technology. AMD supplies Ferrari with powerful and
reliable mobile PC systems and workstations based on the AMD Opteron?,
AMD Athlon? 64, mobile AMD Athlon 64, and AMD Athlon 64 FX processors
for fast real-time performance diagnostics, fluid dynamics
simulations, and telemetry applications."

Also see:
"As Ferrari racecars and their drivers push to the extremes of
performance, so does the AMD technology working behind the scenes.
During the race, AMD processor-based servers and workstations empower
Scuderia Ferrari with real-time diagnostics, telemetry analysis and
real-time performance forecasts to the pit crew and drivers. The
result? Victory."

And:
"During a race, a Formula One racecar engine generates an
enormous amount of electronic data. Ferrari relies on
AMD OpteronTM processors to collect the data and send it
to the pits for immediate analysis?faster, better, and more
thoroughly than ever before."

THX1138,

I knew AMD is the CPU provider, they even have them as a sponsor on
the F1 car, what I was wondering and couldn't find is the actual
laptop computer they are using in the pit. They almost surely are "AMD
inside" :) but what would be the brand of the actual complete system.
Are there AMD laptops?

I would say this is 50% answer. Please post if you can find further info.
Thanks
Paiasoloco

Hello again Paiasoloco.

Acer are the brand of computers Ferrari use with AMD processors.

"Acer becomes official supplier to Scuderia Ferrari
Formula One Team

TAIPEI, TAIWAN (February 20, 2003) - Acer today announces the signing
of an agreement with Scuderia Ferrari, through which Acer becomes
'official supplier' to the Ferrari Team with its IT products,
including notebooks, desktop PCs, servers and monitors."

Just as a note, for you. When you rate an answer, it effectively
'closes' the question. I would have been more than happy to clarify
my answer before you rated my answer (as I mentioned at the end of my
answer)

Anyway welcome to Google Answers.

Best regards
