Hello vaac-ga,
Please send the following information regarding these 2 programs.

In your Startup program, right click on "Power Reg Schedule V2" and
then click on Properties. Paste the information from the "Target"
field and "Comment" field.
Do the same for other program also.

It seems to me that you've recently installed Epson printer or some
Epson driver and hence you've Epson status monitor in the start-up
programs.

Send the details for me to take a look.

Thanks
netcrazy

I did install Epson printer recently and the "target" details for
Epson is "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\E_SRCV03.EXE" For the other item it is a
largw box, too large to print out, titled "power reg scedule v2
properties"

What is the purpose of these files and can they be deleted safely

Hi vaac!!

"EPSON Status Monitor 3 Environment Check":
"According to the Epson info: "Use this utility to automatically check
for errors and also check the level of ink remaining."
This utility can also be started on demand when about to print as
follows: File menu --> Print to bring up the print dialog box -->
Click on the Properties button --> Click the Utility tab to get a list
of utilities that can be executed including the Status Monitor 3
Environment Check."
http://www.windowsstartup.com/wso/detail.php?id=880

You can safely remove this from the start up list, but I do not
suggest you to delete this file, because it is part of the EPSON
printer installation.
To remove this tool from the start up list (this procedure will
prevent this application to run at windows start up):
Start --> Run --> type msconfig --> select Start up tab --> uncheck
the item E_SRCV03.EXE or EPSON Status Monitor 3 Environment Check -->
click on Accept or Ok button.

----------------------------------------------------------

"PowerReg SchedulerV2":

According to PestPatrol site this is "A registration scheduler.
Periodically attempts to connect to the Internet. Gathers unknown
information."
I suggest you to remove it from your computer, see the following page
for additional info:
"PowerReg Scheduler":
http://www.pestpatrol.com/pestinfo/p/powerreg_scheduler.asp

To uninstall, just follow the instructions at the "Detection and
Removal" section of the above page:
http://www.pestpatrol.com/pestinfo/p/powerreg_scheduler.asp#Detection%20and%20Removal

I hope that this helps you. If you need further assistance on this,
please feel free to request for it, I will gladly respond to your
requests.

Best regards.

is there a way to save "PowerReg SchedulerV2" to a dfferent place on
the computer so I should have it in the unlikely possibility I will
ever need it?

If you don't want to eliminate PowerReg SchedulerV2, don't delete any
file or folder, just follow these instructions:

Go to Start --> Run --> type msconfig --> at Start Up tab uncheck any
entry related to PowerReg SchedulerV2 like powerreg schedulerv2.exe ,
etc.

If PowerReg SchedulerV2 continues starting at Windows start up you
must remove some entries from the registry, see what to do at the
following page:
"Manage the Programs Run at Windows Startup (All Windows) at Registry
Guide for Windows" at 'Remove a startup application' paragraph:
http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/109/

Both procedures only prevent PowerReg SchedulerV2 to run automaticaly
at Windows start up, they do not delete or uninstall PowerReg
SchedulerV2.
If you later find that you need that program, go back to MSConfig and
check the box next to that item, and reboot.

I hope that this helps you.

Regards.

Your answer, comments and clarifications were to complicated and time
consuming to follow but will most probably be useful in the future.
Therefore I just copied the start-up files to elsewhere in the
computer and deleted them.
