Sorry eatapc, but I don't think we are going to get to know (yet, anyway) "Six Flags is keeping mum about his identity. A spokeswoman for the theme park would identify him only as the Six Flags Dancing Ambassador of Fun, an icon for all the Six Flags locations." http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/lifestyles_columnists/article/0,1299,DRMN_4537_2862315,00.html Six flags' ad agency is a company called Doner. You could try contacting them: "CONTACT: Pat Baskin, +1-248-827-8338, pbaskin@donerus.com , or AndreaBorg, +1-248-827-8446, aborg@donerus.com , both of Doner" http://ww3.komotv.com/Global/story.asp?S=1934724 Good luck THX1138 |

I too found that this is intentionally a closely guarded secret, presumably perpeptuated by Six Flags' celver marketing folks in an effort to generate more interest in the theme park. The actor is anonymous and even the charatcer himself is nameless. Up to this point the character is simply called (for the moment at least) "The Ambassador of Fun": ?"He represents the spirit of Six Flags," says Six Flags Inc. spokeswoman Debbie Nauser of the man who's favorite music in the ad seems to be "We Like to Party," by the Venga Boys. "He's our ambassador of fun, his dance and lively antics are to show people that at Six Flags you can let loose." Nauser said the character currently has no name and declined to say if he's played by a real senior citizen or is, as many suspect, a limber young dancer made up to look really old. He has been confirmed as a male, according to published reports ? as opposed to a female dancer dressed up in a bald wig and a suit.? "We are getting incredible response" to the commercial, says Debbie Nauser, a spokeswoman for Six Flags in Oklahoma City, which "isn't the norm for us." Indeed, the 30- and 60-second versions of the commercial both appear on the current list of the top 10 most effective new spots as compiled by the Intermedia Advertising Group; the long version was No. 2 and the short version was No. 8. Alas, Ms. Nauser is unwilling to identify the actor or tell how old he may be. Because he is meant to serve as "the spirit of Six Flags" in the spot, she says, "beckoning people to get away from their busy schedules for the ultimate," the company prefers not to discuss anything about him." http://www.whatsthatcalled.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=152&st=15 |

I am near positive that the man behind the mask is Jaleel White a.k.a. Steve Urkel from "Family Matters" |

This is NOT Jaleel White, i REPEAT, NOT Jaleel White The following statements support my theory.. Jaleel White played Steve Erkel in his teen years, now he is an adult and has grown in height and weight, his shoulders are a clear giveaway at the fact that the Ambassador of Fun is way too small to be Jaleel White. Here is a recent picture of Jaleel next to his Steve Erkel role http://www.autogrammsammlung.de/Bilder/j-white.JPG As you can clearly see, my statement above is true, To get a better view of him go rent the movie Big Fat Liar. |

Upon closer inspection of the "Ambassador of Fun" I noticed that in the "It's Playtime" Commercial that his face is actually peeling near the ear area, revealing an either ear covered with thousands of liver spots or black persons ear. Then again who said an old man in his 60-80s couldn't preform such technique, sure it is unlikely. but there are people who work out enough to maintain physical stability Much like the very well aged Jack Lalanne http://pages.hosting.domaindirect.com/naturalhealthperspective.com/jlalanne.jpg Who is a 90 year old man. Eventually the identity of this mysterious dancing man will be released sometime. Just like every other secret it will get leaked somehow. |
