I am looking for a comprehensive list of names used to describe
colors. I need to have creative names when decribing the colors of my
product (furniture). For example, cognac for a dark red, pearl for a
beige, etc.

Hello fturano1~

There are a number of places a person might go for help with naming
colors for products. An excellent one, when you?re otherwise stuck, is
to go to a paint chip counter!

But, on the more practical side, here's a list of 140 different
colors, with color swatches:
http://www.webcolors.freeserve.co.uk/names140.htm (?Web Colors.?)
This website is designed with web designers in mind, but is equally
useful for pinpointing color names; just ignore the HTML codes.

A similar and helpful site is found here:
http://www.main.cz/colors/color_names.htm (?Color Names In English?)
Click on any color and the background will change accordingly.

And if you want to check out ?paint chips,? try this artist paint
reference guide: http://www.dickblick.com/zz006/17/products.asp?param=0&ig_id=209
(?Dick Blick?) Scroll down the page for a color chart.

Regards,
Kriswrite
