This book was carefully re-bound 200+ years ago and seperated by
sections. It's in Latin.
I don't have the cover page. I have a book, (section four) of the
original complete book, pages 549-751. The author is D. Iustiniani,
the book is called "Institutionum". This book came to me with a series
of law books that date from 1740-1770. I want to find out as much as
posible about the original book including the date published, place in
history and something about the author. I'm intrigued as to the care
shown this book. It could be older than the others by 100-200 years.

Hi,

Your book is undoubtedly some edition of Justinian's Institutes, a
legal work originally published in 533 A.D.

There have been so many editions of Justinian's Institutes over the
centuries that it's hard to guess much about your particular edition.
Are there any other clues? Any year (probably Roman numerals)
mentioned in the front?

Hi,
This is more like a "Cliff Notes" authored by D. Iustininiani, or
critical analysis of the work you mention. I have found 20-30 items on
this author who wrote in the 1500's. I beleive the book is from that
period to thr 1700's.
Good luck!
