Jeanart2 -- An FTW file is almost-certainly a Family Tree for Windows file: http://www.genealogy.com/soft_ftm.html?priority=5090284&Welcome=1087487648 It's a very popular program that costs about $30. Note that there are 11 versions of Family Tree Maker and many have different file formats. Later versions (at least after version 5) have the ability to embed graphics (like family photos) but that makes the files VERY large -- often in the 15+ megabyte range. Family Tree Maker will import GEDCOM files, a standard-text only format developed by the Church of Latter Day Saints for genealogical interchange. (These files tend to be smaller, perhaps 200K bytes.) Best regards, Omnivorous-GA |
