I am in search of one particular WW2 photo. An aircraft carrier has a
plane crash landed on it's smokestack(?s). This magazine was
published bi-weekly so there are potentially 200+ possible issues. I
am offering this price hoping someone knows an easier way to look
besides me searching magazine by magazine during an outing down to the
only known Arizona collection--ASU. (online would be fun, but hasn't
worked out for me). I would like to know on what page of which issue
of Look Magazine this photo is found. I appreciate any / all
questions / comments.

Hi 4afriend,

I made some enquiries, but the closest I came was finding a 1942 Look
Magazine with a group of drawings, one of them of a plane crashing on
a cruiser - no mention of a smokestack. The cruiser evaded a Japanese
air assault for 13,000 miles!

I'm sure someone will manage to find your photo -

I looked around and discovered that the Look magazine archive is now
part of the Library of Congress. http://lcweb2.loc.gov/pp/pphome.html
Scroll down and you'll see "LOOK collection".

I tried to do a search for the photo you mention - with no luck. But
you might want to give it a try yourself. I doubt all the photos have
been entered in the database there are 3.9 million!

I am so thrilled to have hits on this. I was very excited to see L of
C has added LOOK collection. However I could not access any photos as
it seems they are not yet digitalized? djfresh$--, if you disagree
PLEASE let me know. Otherwise, hopefully photos will be coming soon!

Thanks both for your help.
